The turning tool is the cutting tool of the Lathe Machine. The commonly used turning tools in schools are flat turning tools, oblique turning tools, diamond turning tools, semi-circular turning tools, partition turning tools, etc.
1. Select the wood:
(1) Remove metal objects and sand attached to the wood.
(2) The wood is suitable for square angle wood.
(3) There are cracks and pine knots in the wood, which cannot be used for turning.
2. Center the wood, saw the cross groove, and put the front end of the movable top center into the groove.
3. Insert the movable top center into the spindle hole of the front seat of the Lathe Machine, and move the tailstock to an appropriate position to fix it on the bed. Then rotate the tailstock handwheel, so that the fixed top center on the tailstock tightly pushes into the center hole of the wood.
4. Rotate the wood by hand for a few counts, then reverse the tailstock handwheel once, slightly withdraw from the fixed top center, and add lubricating oil into the center hole of the wood.
Turn the handwheel clockwise to re-enter the center hole. At this time, the wood was not only firmly held up by the top core, but also turned very smoothly.
5. Move the turning tool holder to the proper position and fix it on the bed. Then adjust the height of the turning tool holder. At this time, the distance between the blade holder surface and the outermost edge of the wood should be about 3mm.
